Public Safety

Privacy when it matters. Visibility when seconds do.

Police, fire, and EMS fleets carry a stack of life-saving electronics that can't be disrupted, and a duty cycle no other vertical shares. Advantage One builds the telemetry, sensor, dispatch, and FMIS layer that sits beside that work — engineered for the privacy police need, the response visibility EMS and fire demand, and the unique upfits every public safety asset carries.

The Operation

Beside the equipment that already saves lives — never on top of it.

Public safety fleets are unlike anything else on the road. Patrol cars, ambulances, and apparatus already carry layered life-safety electronics, agency-specific upfits, and operational realities the rest of the fleet world never encounters. The shared pattern: telematics is the last thing that can break the systems that came before it.

The vehicle is already saving someone

Radios, MDTs, light controllers, sirens, defibrillators, monitor-defibrillators, ePCR tablets. Telematics has to coexist with everything that’s already in the dash — not fight for it.

GPS isn’t always wanted

Patrol fleets need engine and usage data without location records — for officer safety, undercover work, and union-negotiated privacy. Fire and EMS need real-time location the second a call goes out.

Always idling, always road-ready

Duty cycles built around hours, not miles. PM schedules tuned to idle hours, fast-readiness inspections, and reserve-fleet rotation — not highway-mileage defaults.

Operator-of-record is accountability

Who was driving, when, with which equipment, on which call. Chain-of-custody data is operational — and frequently legal — evidence.

Every asset is upfitted differently

A patrol K9 unit, an ALS ambulance, a quint apparatus, and a command vehicle all share a chassis but nothing else. Generic telematics deployments fail in the install bay.

Capabilities

Engineered for the equipment, the duty cycle, and the privacy this work demands.

Every capability below reflects deliberate work for public safety operations — from the privacy-mode configuration that makes telematics palatable inside a PD union environment, to the sensor integrations that turn light bars, K9 cabins, and firearm presence into operational data.

Signature

Engine data without GPS

Privacy Mode for PD

Patrol fleets get engine health, usage, and diagnostic data — with no GPS records written to the database. The fleet manager gets what they need to maintain the cars; officers get the privacy the union and the work demand. Configurable by agency policy, enforced at the platform level.

Privacy by Default

Fire & EMS — seconds matter

Real-Time Dispatch Visibility

Live GPS, sub-second location updates, and integration into regional and national E911 / CAD systems. Apparatus and ambulance location available to dispatchers, command, and mutual-aid partners the moment the call goes out.

Activation as operational data

Lights & Sirens Telemetry

Light bars and siren controllers wired to the GO device — every activation captured as structured telemetry. Response time, on-scene duration, and emergency-mode driving behavior all become measurable, reviewable, and defensible.

Canine partner safety

K9 Cabin Temperature Monitoring

Real-time cabin temperature sensors integrated with the GO platform. Threshold breaches trigger immediate alerts to the handler, supervisor, and dispatch — with door-status and engine-on context to drive the right intervention.

Removed and not returned

Firearm BLE Tracking

Bluetooth-tagged firearms paired to the assigned vehicle. The platform knows when a weapon leaves the vehicle and — critically — alerts when one has been removed and not returned at end of shift.

Revenue recovery for Fire & EMS

Patient Transport Billing

Accurate trip timing, mileage, and call data captured for ambulance and rescue billing — so insurers reimburse what was actually delivered. Real revenue recovery for departments billing patient transfers and ER transports.

Road-readiness, not mileage

Idle-Aware PM & Reserve Fleet

PM schedules tuned to engine hours, idle hours, and shift cycles instead of odometer defaults. Reserve-fleet rotation, frontline-to-spare swaps, and fast-readiness compliance built into the maintenance workflow.

Chain of custody, asset by asset

Operator-of-Record & Upfit Inventory

Driver-to-vehicle assignment with shift-change accuracy, plus per-vehicle upfit inventory — so command, fleet, and audit can see who was driving what, and what equipment that vehicle was carrying when it was driven.

FirstNet-class connectivity

Priority Cellular Connectivity

Public-safety priority cellular configurations, hardened antennas for upfit-heavy installs, and connectivity profiles tuned for the bands and roaming behavior fire, EMS, and police actually rely on under load.

How We Deliver

Public safety installs are equipment surveys, not vehicle counts.

Public safety deployments succeed or fail in the install bay. We treat every engagement as an equipment survey first — catalog every life-safety system already on board, design around it, and only then talk about device counts and timelines.

Equipment-Aware Install Survey

Every vehicle class — patrol, K9, ALS, BLS, engine, ladder, command — gets surveyed before a GO device is mounted. Existing electronics, power loads, antenna conflicts, and upfit interference all mapped up front.

Privacy-by-Default Configuration

PD deployments default to privacy mode. GPS recording requires explicit, policy-driven activation — not a technical override. The configuration matches what the agency told the union it would do.

Department Change Management

Union briefings, officer and firefighter walk-throughs, and EMT-facing rollouts run by consultants who have stood up telematics inside public safety operations. Trust precedes adoption — and trust is earned in the briefing room.

Cooperative Procurement

Deployment through Advantage One Sourcewell, Geotab Sourcewell Participant, NASPO ValuePoint, or Equalis Group — audit-clean procurement paths for any public safety agency, jurisdiction, or scale.

Representative Stack

What a purpose-engineered public safety stack looks like.

Every customer stack is scoped by agency type, vehicle class, and duty profile. This is a representative example of the integration surface area we deliver against — from highway patrols to metropolitan fire departments to county EMS systems.
